Cake lifters exist because using a makeshift tool often leads to a damaged cake... next thing you know everyone is frustrated, buying frozen cakes and homemade goods are a thing of the past and can only be viewed in a museum!

Okay, maybe that's a touch dramatic, but you get the picture. A cake lifter makes handling a delicate item such as a freshly baked cake much less of a gamble and keeps your blood pressure down. A baker's blade can be used as a cake lifter, too, but it also lets you scrape, chop and scoop pieces of dough.
